Girls' County Cup Winners

The Bernard Gilpin Primary School girls' football team recently made history by winning the prestigious County cup for the first time. After progressing to finals night earlier in the term, the team's hard work and determination paid off as the girls went on to lift the trophy without conceding a single goal in the entire competition.

In a thrilling finals night, the girls demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship as well as tactical awareness and an unwavering team spirit, earning them a well-deserved victory in the first match. After remaining unbeaten in their next two group matches and undeterred by the wild weather, the team went on to earn a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the final.

As a further reward, the team will go on to represent the county in the Girls' Northern Final later in the school year. Congratulations to the team and everyone involved in this outstanding sporting achievement.
